PUBLISH is pleased to announce the opening of the PUBLISH ESG Center.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) experts, including representatives from the Global Entrepreneurs Foundation, which helps young entrepreneurs implement ESG goals, and Cherry, a blockchain-based donation platform.

Commenting on the opening of the center, PUBLISH CEO Sonny Kwon said, “PUBLISH's mission is to restore good journalism as a social good, and ESG has always been a part of our DNA.”

During his congratulatory remarks, Han Jeonghwa, a business professor at Hanyang University, said, “PUBLISH’s move into the ESG space comes amid growing interest in ESG both at home and abroad.”

This was followed by a lecture on the latest ESG trends and advice for companies wishing to implement ESG goals in Korea. The lecture was given by Cho Wonhee, an attorney at D’LIGHT Law Group, which specializes in blockchain legal consultation.

Park Sanggyu, who will serve as the head of PUBLISH ESG Center, said that “ESG is no longer an option” and outlined a number of key business areas for the center. Initially, the center will provide ESG consultation and education services, develop a blockchain-based carbon credit trading platform, and design a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) protocol as an alternative to legacy centralized governance structures.

Previously, PUBLISH co-hosted an ESG education “talk concert” for small businesses with Yonsei University’s LINC+ project group and participated in an ESG job fair. It also signed a business agreement with BDO Sunghyun to build a blockchain-based ESG service.
